InCase

InCase is a time-triggered, end-to-end encrypted delivery system. You seal a message or piece of information into a capsule, and it stays unreadable — even to us — until a condition you set is met.

How it works

• Encrypted on your device, before it ever leaves your phone. InCase uses AES-256-CBC with a key derived from a phrase only you know (PBKDF2, 100,000 iterations). We store ciphertext only.
• Two ways to trigger delivery: a specific date you choose, or a check-in window — if you go quiet for longer than you've defined, the capsule releases on its own.
• No plaintext, ever. We cannot preview a capsule, recover a lost key phrase, or hand over readable content to anyone who asks, because we genuinely don't have it.

What people put in a capsule

• A letter for a birthday that hasn't happened yet
• Something for a specific person, set to arrive if you go quiet
• A note to your future self, written right before a big decision
• A message for someone too young right now for it to mean much — set to unlock when they're older

If you lose your key phrase, we cannot recover your content. That tradeoff is the whole point: "we cannot read your capsules" is a fact about how InCase is built, not a promise about our intentions.

What it isn't

InCase is a time-triggered information delivery system. It is not a legal will, testament, or financial instrument, and has no legal standing. InCase is not a bank, asset custodian, or financial institution. For legal or financial matters, please consult a qualified professional.

Account and data control

Deleting your account is a one-tap action inside the app — open Settings, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete Account. It immediately and permanently removes your account, every capsule (including ones already delivered), and all related data. No support ticket required. Full details are in our privacy policy.
